Snail drum magazine ...
... blueprint I bumped into today by surfing the net. Actually this blueprint has
"Infanterie - KonstruktionsBureau Spandau, Den 1. November 1916" writen in lower right corner. It looks like it's showing type I Trommelmagazine made by AEG with telescopic winding handle. Does anyone know more about this? Did Spandau made blueprints and distributed them for production to various manufacturers or Spandau manufactured some snail drum magazines as well? SIGP2101 |
I have never seen or heard about any Spandau manufactured snail drum magazines ?
|
I would love to see the blueprints
Sounds like they are design prints of the snail drum - were they for possible military usage in case they needed more? was the drums made by civilians under contract? |

As the chief arsenal I believe Spandau was responsible for jobbing out all arms manufacture.

Spandau may have been more directly involved in sub-ing out a feeding device for the 9mm Bergman SMG. TH

This is a blueprint from a technial Drawing Office
Not from the Spandau Factory Regards thomas |

This "free" image above is apparently a very much reduced/compressed version of the TM-08 blueprint "bonus" that is included on the P.08 Blueprint CD that I sell. (See the "sticky" at the top of the FOR SALE forum).
The version above is only 158Kbytes in size and you can't magnify it to see the details clearly... the version on my CD is over 6 Megabytes in size and you can zoom in and see all the details clearly... Here is an example of the level of detail that is available on the CD... try zooming in on the same portion of the drawing above and you will see the difference in image quality... I scanned the blueprints at 600 dpi and then painstakingly removed all the stray marks in the scan that were possible without degrading the images... I guess the old adage is true... you get what you pay for :D Ed, you already own a copy of my CD :) |
