1940 S42 Mauser
I've been meaning to come on here and share this one for some time. It's nothing unusual, just another 1940 Mauser with honest wear. I've had it for quite a number of years, and everything seems right except for a non-matching magazine (firing pin and such matches as well). I eventually picked up a spare mag and a loading tool to go with it, but have lost out on every reasonably-priced holster I've ever come across.

Beautiful, honest pistol!

yes, I think its a very nice pistol.
Personally, I would find a nice 1939, 1940 or 1941 holster and just spend the money, waiting for a 'reasonable' one will just have the market go up eventually :) |
That's the way I like them, nobody tried to "improve" that one.

From now on, if I see something I really want, and have the money (or credit), I'll get it!!! :p |
If t'wer me, I would keep an eye on:
Ebay ( here is a good one ), SimpsonLTD, etc... A good source of really fine, absolutely authentic holsters and other luger items is an Ebay dealer: "Pre98". I'd think 2-$400 should get you a fine 1930's or 40's holster. Richard |
Thanks, I'm keeping an eye on that one just in case it doesn't go out of sight like most I've seen lately.
