Unidentified marking!

This mark is on the top of a 1917 Erfurt rework. Gun has been totally re-finished, rebarreled and has had the frame number added to the barrel. What do you guys make of it?? By the way no import marks at all.

Re: Unidentified marking!

As I've never seen it before, I'll take a wild-ass guess and say it could be a reworker's mark. Ted Green stamps all his reworks with his "special" mark, so here too could be someone's mark.

Might be the mark of manufacture for the replacement barrel...

But I haven't seen it before either!

I can't see the pic.

How does the mark look like?

Can you maybe repost it?

Here you go HÃ?Â¥kan! I uploaded the photo to the forum server (EOM)
But:

There is a Swedish company that have a hammer in their logo, they used to stamp their reworks with this hammer.

But i am not sure if its the same stamp.

They did once long back had a very good pistolsmith who emigrated to the US and worked there some years.

Could be a rebarreling work from him or that company.

Tula Arsenal?

Hi Doug. This is the same mark that the Russian Tula Arsenal used Pre-Revolution,Oct.1917.See "The Luger Book"by John Walter and "Gunmarks" by Robert Balderson.Balderson's pictures are close but Walters are an exact match.Since you say this is rebarreled maybe the Russians resurected this mark.I'm sorry I can't be more definite.Hope this helps.Regards,Mc
