Mauser Sauciere

Hello Guys,
Just received this Mauser Waffenfabrik sauciere from Germany. This item belonged to the Mauser Hotel/Casino in Oberndorf.
I know that the Mauser hotel/casino was available for customers or delegations that were visiting Mauser.
Do you have any other information about this Mauser facility?

Cheers,
Mauro

Hi Mauro,

What is the 3rd. word in German on the bottom line and what does it mean ?

p.s. In America, this item is sometimes called a "gravy boat"...sauciere has a much more pleasing sound to it...

Hi Pete,
Good question. Actually I don't know.
The word is: Aktiengesellschaft.
Does any Lugerforum member helps us with the translation.
Thank you.
Ciao
Mauro

Hi,

Aktiengesellschaft or A.G. is just the company type. Like the US 'inc.' and 'ltd'. Just means that the company issued shares.

IIRC, there were 2 corporate strutures in Germany..AG and GmbHa
Tom A.

Hi Mauro,

If you study the Mauser company history, you will discover that the name 'Waffenfabrik Mauser AG' was used between 1897 and 1922. After 1922 the company became 'Mauser-Werke AG'.

Should place your sauciere somewhere between 1897 and 1922 I guess.

Very nice. I wonder if it is linked with the company's swimming pool of which there are some photo's in 'Die geschichte...'?

Hi,
Here the back side of the Mauser Kasino post card. The post card was post in Oberndorf, as you can see by the stamp mark.
Who knows German language can try to understand the content of the text.
