Simson Eagle 6

Are Simson Eagle 6 marked magazines relatively rare and/or desirable? I seem to see many more extruded military type magazines for sale. Jim

IMHO, YES to both questions!

Drbuster,
Thanks for the reply. I just got my first 2 Simsons with a double date unit marked police. They both have matching numbers to the luger. I think force matched. In addition they are both numbered 1. As soon as I get some time I will post pictures of the luger, holster, tool and magazines. Jim

Here is the info on my police. DWM #2558f ( I think it is an "f" it is light and difficult to read. It has a sear safety intact. No mag safety. It came with 2 Eagle 6 Simson mags. Both mags serialed to the gun but both are numbered 1. It also came with a S.B.14329 marked holster made by A.Fischer Berlin C.2 1933 with a sunburst mark. Also the tool which I believe is a non matching police? The back is numbered 865. Let me know if you need something else. Jim

Jim,

Thanks very much for the information. Both the pistol and the holster are quite interesting.

The pistol is marked for the Schutzpolizei Muenster but it is evident that there was at least one earlier mark that was ground off. The canceled 53 is in a strange location and there are a number of extraneous periods floating around. Any chance of making out more of the earlier mark? The current mark is consistent with the 1932 marking orders. The earlier mark may have been in accordance with the 1922 orders, which specified more information.

The holster is from the Berlin Schutzpolizei. I don't have that number in my database, so it is a welcome addition. If you get AutoMag, you'll see where yours fits in with the others from my two-part article on the Berlin Schup marks to be published in August & September.

Thanks again for posting this data.

Don,
I forgot to mention this is on an artillery frame. It is obvious that there were other marks but I can't make any of them out. I looked inside the grip and nothing is visible there. The barrel is Crown N marked. I don't get automag but I would like to see your article. Jim

Jim, is it on a true artillery frame, or cut like an arty?

The reciever is cut like an artillery. Jim
