Help! 8MM Nambu Loading data

I Just picked up dies, brass and bullets and want to load some of these Japanese 8MM Nambu rounds. Amazingly I went thru 15 different loading manuals and none had any loading data for this cartridge.

I believe the bullet weight is 108 gr. I would prefer to load with Red Dot shotgun powder but am desperate! I will use some other if necessary. I use Red Dot for almost all of my pistol rounds.

If anyone knows of a site to download I would appreciate that as well! Thanks! Jerry Burney

Ed, Many thanks, She has a very nice site and I have gotten some preliminary loading data which should suit my purposes.

Hopefully we can shoot your Pistol a little more this Summer! I have been looking for these componants for some time and lucked into them today.

I appreciate your help! Jerry Burney

You should have asked me, I have a set I am not using right now! :)

Ed, I did ask you! That was last Summer and so far the set you have has not arrived! I found a three die set, RCBS, today at a local gun shop, 150 bullets and 50 shell casings...20 bucks. Couldn't pass it up.
I just wish I had a type 14 here to test a few rounds. I hate to load a box without at least a test fireing. Jerry Burney

I have this nice matching T-14 with pitting that I would / could trade :)

How is that going to help me tomorrow when I want to test fire! I am sure we will get together this Summer when I get back. I am a little slim on trading material, I have not been able to find much here this Winter. No luck at all on guns. Jerry Burney

Tac, Thanks! Jerry

Ed, make me a deal I can't refuse for the dies. I have one on the wall that has been shot five times in ten years.

sorry, I would only have "loaned" them to Jerry... You see them on e-bay every now and then. There is also a guy selling reloaded ammo on gunbroker. I figure I should keep them, as I have had a Nambu for nigh on 20 years.

RK, If you want to borrow the set I have for a few months let me know I will send them to you. I won't be back in Colorado for some time and that's where I will be able to load and test these. I have a type 14 there. The 8MM Japanese dies are surprisingly expensive....Let me know. Jerry Burney

Hi Jerry,

I guess this means we're going to have to scare some golf balls with my PaPa. I kinda worry about parts availability for it, but when you have a gun you should try it, Right?

Jack, I guess so! Bring your Artillery next time you come to Yuma, I have the part for it and we need to install it. Do you have any factory loads or should I roll some up? You need to learn how, why don't you come down and I will show you...You can reload some 8MM and shoot them in your pistol!

Ellie designed a beautiful business card for you with the photo of your Krieghoff on it...Looks really great! You going to pick it up or should I mail it?

Hi Jerry,

I am planning on visiting you for the Yuma gun show next week. Just keep everything there and I'll pick it up.

Thanks so much,
Jack

Thanks Jerry, will keep in mind. Appreciate the offer. I'll look around and find some brass & bullets first,

RK, OK...I reloaded a couple of rounds with the data I found. Maybe will test them in Jack's Papa Nambu if he brings it.

Your welcome to borrow them if and when you like. I just need to find a load that works and load a hundred rounds for the heck of it.
Ed Tinker gave me a link to a gal in Canada that has some good inhfo on where to get brass and bullets. If I have it I will post it for you.

RK, Ed's link is in this thread, second posting!

Wait just a minute! TEST them in my perfect, prized, irreplacable PaPa! You do know that my PaPa was the same pistol that Hirohito used to commit suicide; was passed down in the family, and only was offered to me because I took in the Hirohito's family cat; pampering him back to health after no Tender Vittles were to be found in Mainland Japan at the war's end. My ex-wife who at the time was Miss Yokohama and Miss Panasonic introduced me into the royal family and this is the gun you wish to TEST your reloading prowess? As Slim Pickens would say, "I am depressed."

Tac,

I certainly was totally unaware of this side of the history of my PaPa. I do, however, take exception to your "interpretation" of the Emperor's "dialect." It appears to be of Eastern Irish Japanese, and maybe, quite possibly a rebuild of a fake tale from "The Keeper of the Cat."

Keep smiling,
Jack

Gentlemen, I appreciate the history lesson. You fellows really should find a hobby with this much time on your hands.
Jack, Looking forward to your visit. Jerry

Tac, Are you an example of the rare thin skinned Englishman? I thought the breed was hardier than that. I guess the wet has something to do with softening of the skin.
I am not in the habit of putting people into boxes even if you did come out of one. It's not my place.
It was a joke. Jack is a good Friend and would appreciate the humor. He has a hobby already. German Lugers. That's what makes it funny.
I did appreciate both stories and found them extremely humorous. I guess wit is where you appreciate it.
Don't look for snakes where there are none.
Apologies are a sign of weakness.

Tac, I reside in America and am therefor an American. You reside in England and are not English. Odd how language plays with us, is it not?

Generally if your posting is not in direct response to my own, I would not have the time nor the inclination to detect any hint of humour, however slight or well-intentioned it might be, in your future posts, and bring it to your attention without delay, regardless of your urgings.

Yours, Dear Mr Burney

Tac,

Since I am the instigator of all, I feel compelled to ask. What , exactly is a Burgundian? I think I had it once, but got a shot to get over it.

Jac
