Well, I for one am still not convinced.
The serial number on the barrel is simply a mess. I challenge the Mauser collectors to show me a similar "5" from one of their guns? :) Common prove me wrong :) Mauser fonts are not consistent, so I might be wrong! Oh and while your at it tell me why the two "6's" look so different is size, and its not because of the curvature of the barrel. Very nice spacing by the way? Vern |

Here you go, Vern. Regards, Norm
P.S. Gun illustrated is a 41 42 with British proofs. |

Fortunately I just bought a new camera (Sony Nex-5). Here are some better images. http://i872.photobucket.com/albums/a...g?t=1289246536 http://i872.photobucket.com/albums/a...g?t=1289246599 Quote:
The "1" is clearly a "1" http://i872.photobucket.com/albums/a...g?t=1289246892 |
Give it the simichrome test. If it refinished then the test will show a blue to black hue on the qtip. If it is original you will see a brown coloration.
Also open the action: What does it smell like. If it smells like Grandma's purse then it is probably original. If it does not then I would be that the simichrome test does not come out brown. |

Gentlemen, FWIW, I checked my database of Thor Restorations and this Luger is NOT in my listings. It has NOT been through TLC treatment (Thor's Luger Clinic)
