Dutch mag bottom with spring retainer...

I hate to even mention this... but, I have made them before, and, I can make one of those for you???... It's not cheap, but considering the work involved, not really that expensive either... It is practically, if not completely, indistingushable from the original...Let me know if you're interested...I'm at gctomeks@msn.com :jumper:.. Best to you, til...lat'r...GT

What would an original mag bottom look like for this gun??

dutch bottom...

Hi Dave, Ron Wood had an excellent pictorial on this very subject.. perhaps he could re-present it? Or direct you to it in the archives(sp.?) anyway... they're a fairly complex little item,:jumper: for what they had to do?? Best to you, til...lat'r...GT

As it is an old post, and I can't edit it since it is an "archive", there are some goofy characters that replace quotation marks and other punctuation. But it is still readable.

Just for the record, I have a Dutch Banner with chamber dated 1939 with the Rust and arrow pointing Down... s/n 2612 v and condition is about 95% +.. just FYI

Ron,
I remember seeing the wooden base many years ago. I suspect it may have been thrown away in the 50's or 60's. There is the possibility that it may turn up in my parents house at some point. They are both in their 90's now.

Magazine

An update on the wooden bottom to my magazine. It never turned up in my parents house after they passed away. I can only assume that it was thrown out at some point because it was “broken”.

Don,
Happy to see that you thought to return to this thread after 6 years, but sad to hear that the base to your magazine didn't turn up. If you really want one, I can totally recommend a replacement made by G.T. as it is a dead ringer for an original.
Ron

Gentlemen,
I have two Dutch lugers in my collection.

The first, I believe is from the 1st Dutch KNIL contract, serial number 3843, which has the grip safety and the 'RUST' safety arrow points up.

The 2nd, I believe is from the 3rd Dutch KNIL contract, serial number 13737, which also has the grip safety, and the 'RUST' safety arrow pointing up.

To compliment the above, I have a centre toggle from the 2nd KNIL Contract.

Stay safe
Richard

Thanks for bringing this thread back up

Just a quick note that K.M. on the grip stands for Korps Mariniers, not Koninklijke Marine.

K.M. is only found on those pistols issued to Marines.
