Mauser did not remove the stepped chamber design when P08 production was transferred there.

Removal of the chamber step was advised as a measure against extracting problems that the wartime laquered steel cased 9x19mm developed in the P08.

Dwight, I agree that tenbears' fractured bolt face area is a result of incorrect head spacing, not gas pressure. I believe that you will find in testing, that the slot in the left side of the breech block does allow for some pressure escape, particuarly with the relieved FP (or striker to be PC). TH

I'm not sure what caused the damage to the breech block if it was a hot load seems to me their would be evidence of damage on the bolt face and firing pin to which their is none. I have given thought that the damage may have been caused by some nimrod removing a stuck extractor that was frozen in place.
