NIKE Hercules - still has to be considered one of the most accurate missile systems ever developed, capable of clearing out about a cubic mile of airspace with one missile. Thank goodness it was never called upon to do that, but it sure deterred the bad guys from doing something foolish like launching a mass attack on the US or its allies. I started out as a fire control maintenance man during the last phase of the transition from Ajax to Hercules. After that, I commanded a custodial team, was a battery commander and a Bn S-3. I really liked that system.
