P-08 stamped N.Z. New Zealand?

Last Sunday I got an email from Military Memorabilia Ltd. in Auckland New Zealand.www.milimem.com email medals@ihug.co.nz This is the email,(and I quote)I would like feed back please.
Hi Rick,
Nice to hear from you with details about your recent purchase.
Over the years,I have seen only one Luger and one P38 with New Zealand issue stamps.
It is my understanding that due to a shortage of weapons,these guns were officially issued to New Zealand troops(probably officers)
Serving in North Africa during 1941 and 1942.
I have no idea how many we're issued, but my guess would be no more then a hundred or so,if that.
