Just a note of interest. I had a factory gold plated Universal Enforcer, which is a carbine cut down to pistol size. Of course, it is only legal because the factory made it this way and recorded it as a pistol. The frame and most parts were of postwar manufacture. When I bought it some years ago it was reputed to come from the John Wayne estate, though there was no documentation and I certainly didn't pay for the story. Besides the blue finish it was made in gold and chrome plate. The catalogue lists a stainless steel model, but I have never seen one offered for sale. Anyway, any factory finish not blue is considered rare. It's a fairly reliable little pistol, but mine had a nasty habit of kicking the empties right into my face when firing from the hip. When I finally tired of it, it did sell for $600. It seems that there are people who actually collect these things!
