You should buy one soon while the prices for a later war, mint example are still $650-850. Just in the last few years P38's have gone up in value.

A high polish early Walther with e/359 on all of the small parts with a matching mag and grips might be a good start but that will run you $1,200.00-$1,500.00 or more for a minty one.
