RK, what AGE has said is spot on. Not all .45's will feed SWC bullets reliably. Should they prove to be a problem in your pistol, any decent gunsmith should be able to polish your ramp and throat your barrel for reliable feeding. My normal practice ammo is the 200 grain RCBS SWC which is similar to the H&G #68 mold. With 5.6 grains of WW-231, it's accurate and completely reliable.
A load that was 100% in my E. German rework Luger yesterday was 115 gr. FMJ and 5.3 grains of WW-231. I loaded them to an AOCL of 1.110". |
