Bogeyb, forget about buying one of those 'kits' to get a ccr license. If you can read english and fill in the info you can do it yourself. Click on this link and print out the form and supply the other info and then mail it off with your $30 dollars. Yes having a class 3 license makes it a lot easier to buy Lugers, or other things covered by the license, no waiting period, buy interstate, buy at gunshows etc. If there is a pitfall I would have to say it is the requirement to log all of your purchases in a 'bound book' and you will be prohibited from 'dealing', meaning you can only sell a weapon 'occasionally' to enhance your collection.
