I recently purchased an artillery luger holster and stock off of an Aussie gentleman. He mentioned that the Australian police are not forth coming with acturate information regarding pistol ownership. Could it be that you just happen to be talking to the wrong officer? You may be talking to a cop who hates guns and is not giving you the real truth about the law. The same could happen here in the USA where gun laws vary from state to state and, sometimes, from city to city. The police are not lawyers.
