Most of the repros were castings, rather than machined forgings. As such, they had soft edges and a sandy surface look to them. Most were oversized and it was not unusual to spend hours working them down to fit and function. I would also prefer a mismatch original to a reproduction.

I can't stand "reproductions" and I often wonder why (apart from money) people buy them.
