Patrick, you have a Luger with a VERY special unit mark. It was one of the most famous regiments during the Great War. This regiment, Infantry Regiment Großherzog Friedrich Franz II. von Mecklenburg Schwerin No. 24, was the regiment that conquered the famous Fort Douaumont at the Verdun front. It is the first Luger of this regiment I know to exist.
