Default Re: Rare Chrome Luger on Gunbroker

Gosh, I would swap him a truly rare and precious piece for that lovely Erfurt....

An Honest-to-God, One of a Kind, Oxidation-Lightened Mauser Bolo Pistol.

This configuration first came about during the long winter hikes in and out of Russia, as those crafty Germans sought a way to travel swiftly and without extra weight, in practice for Blitzkrieg later on. The stunning Random Splash custom pitting pattern was an early forerunner of camoflagued weapons, and may be considered a prototype.

Another fascinating feature is the Smooth Bore Pistol Variation, and the dull black barrel interior. It is said that these weapons were deadly accurate out to an incredible 10 meters, but were actually designed to be maintenance-free, never needing to be cleaned, even with corrosive primers.

I am sure he would appreciate this priceless and historic piece, as he obviously has a collector's eye, and a great deal of education concerning fine German pistols.
