New old holsters

During the last month I picked up 2 commercial 4" Luger holsters, one is a 1906, the other is a 1910. Here are some photos:

Those are beautiful holsters. I have always liked the leather covered buckles. Congratulations on these great pieces.

Excellent! I am with Ron Smith, those leather covered buckle examples are hard to find.

I observed that early commercial holsters like the 1900 and 1906 for 4 3/4â? barreled Lugers have a patent fastener (push- button) on the tool pouch as on the first photos while 1906 and 1910 commercial holsters for the 4â? Luger have the brass button as we know on the military holsters.
There must be a reason for it.
