Default Another Movie Luger

Time to resurrect the list and add another movie which prominently features a Luger. This time its "Charlie's Angels" (2000).

Yep, the Angels are chasing the Evil Henchman down a street at night in Chinatown, he turns, whips out his Luger, and fires 24 shots or so at them from his Hollywood Hi-cap magazine.

The scene is quick cuts of long and medium closeup shots, intercut with the action at the other end of the bullets. When the never-ending mag finall runs out there is a closeup, head-shot-with-Luger. Its just not quite well-defined enough to make out which model it is.

The scene is at night, and the filmmakers use it for the muzzle flash effect--probably enhance the blank charges to do so, they are very bright.

Although the action is clearly closed in this picture, it does appear that the action is functioning. I enlarged and enhanced another shot, one can just make out the toggle partway open under the arrow. Other than the toggle locking open after the last shot, this is the only frame which shows the action. I wondered (and still do) about this, the film is over-cranked slo-mo and the gun is being fired -really fast-...pretty much faster than most people can even just pull the trigger.

Hey Dwight...

I think I found this on some "Area 51" web site...

Here is another photo...I am not sure...but that might be the 1940-'50's movie actor, Ward Bond...???

I don't think it's Ward Bond. Bob Benson
