Default My Dream III

I am about to finish up w/ my 1st luger(happy, happy;joy, joy).

Thanks to Hugh!

Now the stupid questions..................

It's russian import(byf 41).

I bought a holster w/ tool;junk, what should I buy?

Small pits on barrel; should I change it?

What about a 6"?

Should I have it refinished/how should I do it?

Should I have it re-strawed?

What about gold plate?

A snail clip hold 32(?), do I need one?

Do I need a spring kit?

What should I put through it?

Whats the best mag to buy?

Sorry f/ all the questions.Any help would be appericated!

Soon to be a "member"

David, I will answer some of your questions The springs are good, no need to replace them; it is a 41 byf, it did not have strawed parts originally, so not necessary to have them strawed. It has an excellent dip blue job, the only reason to refinish would be to get rid of those import and dremel tool marks; no need to change barrel, it has a very good shootable bore. Best mag to get is one of the "fxo37" ones with the black plastic or aluminum base; this was the original type for the gun. The best "cheap" mag would be a Meg Gar, if you can find one.

Hugh,

I am not sure if you know this or not, but those import marks are there for a reason; for the BATF to have a way of tracing these recently imported milsurps. Removing them

would be violating the law.(even though it is a silly law)

Furthermore, I think the Regs say these import marks are supposed to be placed on the frame. Kinda silly to put them on something that can be replaced.Like a barrel or gas cylinder(I've seen some Garands with the import mark on the gas cylinder). My 2 cents. Steve
