Unhappy April 2003 Phoenix Gun Show

This was beyond a doubt the worst gun show I have attended in Phoenix. Intermingled among the jewelry, crystal, candy, jerky, patriotic shirts, patriotic gizmos, and the like, there were a few guns. I did see a very nice C-Block byf 42 with Bakelite Grips and a plastic bottom magazine, with a so-so holster for $1300. I also saw a pretty nice byf 44 Dual Tone P.38 for $695 (sorry Orv, I couldn't get a number as the buyer was not going to let me look). And that's about the end of that story.

Seems like a trend Frank, but then occassionally you hear about some killer show that has tons of Lugers, but I always miss those. A real refreshing time to go back to Ralph's to see those 1600 Lugers in one place. I understand from the rumor mill that Nancy is picking the "date" for WOL 2003.

Talking

Thor, I talked to RES last week and he didn't mention anything about WOL. I really think he just wanted to brag about some Lugers he picked up in Reno!!!

I'll let you know if I do hear any information!

Hello Frank,

Next time to visit with RES, have him show you the Swiss luger he picked up at Reno. It came from Bern and has a fixed .22 cal. barrel in 6" length...and the toggle assembly is not an Erma unit, but a Bern W+F stamped unit.

Your AZ show sounds like most CA-State shows. More non-gun junk than any tables with guns...

Driving to Reno (4 hours) and Las Vegas (12 hours) is my only hope of a decent show...

Regards,

Pete...

Jerry, that's the one!! I went to the December Show and that one was pretty good. The February Show wasn't too bad, but this show was a real loser!! They had a good turn out on Saturday, so I don't understand the lack of gun stuff at a gun show!!!

Pete, I'll try to see RES late this week or early nexy week.

Hi Frank! I'm with you! I saw the same guns as did you... and my conclusion is that... I'm getting too damn old to walk four or five miles to see one marginally collectable pistol!!! I am beginning to think these SW gun shows aren't for me! Till...later...GT

What you Phoenix guys need a is a GUN SHOW SCOUT! Have one guy (picked by straws or take turns) He makes a quick pass and calls you other guys on the cell phone! THUMBS UP OR DOWN!
