Default 1906 'Russian Contract' Luger at PIA

Probably been there a while...Might have been pointed out here before...

Only $18,500.00...

http://www.phoenixinvestmentarms.com/1719Russia06.htm

I thought it might be a real gem...Until I saw the chamber...

It's a crying shame...

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly do you mean when you say "until I saw the chamber"
Is that bad? Good? Is it a phony?

You'll need Sherman and Mr Peabody for help with this one...

It's probably been sold...Perhaps Albert bought it for his collection...

If you check/Search the threads on Still's Forum you'll see an assortment of crossed rifles chamber markings...Some good, some bad...

Jones, Walter, and Datig all mention this variation...Jones & Walter have pictures...

BTW: The deletion of pictures, changing of URLs, updated site formats, etc are exactly why it is requested that posters attach pictures rather than link them...

Eric, I believe this is the one I had linked originally...

http://www.phoenixinvestmentarms.com.../827Russ06.htm

There's a couple Russian Lugers in their 'Archived Lugers' section...

Justin, IMHO, the crossed rifles on this one are at the low end of quality engraving/stamping...There are much better ones...Serial # 747 is a pretty nice one...And may even be authentic...
