Default '06 Swiss Commercial listed

Noticed this today. $1995 reserve. Are short barrels like this correct?

Short barrels with the old-model-style sight are a known variation. Were I interested in this pistol, I would want to know what proofs are on it, and what the thumb safety indicator looks like.

Nice gun, in fact from the pictures we cannot see any B,U G proofmark on the barrel underside used from 1893 until about 1940.
I would assume this gun was produced after 1914 but before the Treaty of Versailles (1920) otherwise the matriculation would have been of the German military type (four digits followed by an italic letter).

This Swiss commercial #87167 is at the end of the '20 DWM Commercial' range, which ended in early 1921. The Alphabet Commercial range began immediately after. There are a few examples, probably small batches, produced in this configuration in that time frame. This is the earliest example I have seen.
The Cross in Starburst in my avatar is the same configuration. It and all of the others I have seen in the past are in the early (i suffix) Alphabet Commercial range.
