Obviously the straw has been redone and not very well, but I'd be hard pressed to say it's a reblue...looks original to me.
I'd like to know who made the repro grips on it. Those are the nicest ones I've seen.

Photographing in such harsh lighting tends to wash out any nuance of color. I would have to see the pistol in hand.

I would suggest that if anyone is interested in bidding on this pistol you might want to consider bypassing Proxibid and going directly to Carol Watkins web site where the buyers premium would be 3% less, just a thought.

No. The first American Eagle Luger was serial number 2002.

A nice fairy early piece. An older refinish that was quite well done (hand polished not buffed...clean contours and markings). The photos are high res and can be enlarged so that you can see the condition clearly. Old finish is turning grey but still nice. I would think if you can get gun in hand for $2K including fees and shipping you couldn't go far wrong.

Simpson just listed one (1900 AE) that has been redone a while back. Asking price is $1400.00. No auction fees, taxes or such; just shipping. I have no personal interest. Just thought it fit this thread nicely.

Addendum - I found this in Dwight's database, says the Eagle is an engraving, not an original stamp. Nice.

Sounds like you either have to be there in person or on the phone to get the 15% premium. Internet buyers pay 17.5%. Both have a 3% cash payment discount option.

I online bid for some lots at the last Julia auction and was pretty impressed with the way things ran. Live audio and everything.

A couple of years ago I won the bid for a very nice Portuguese Luger with a 15% buyers premium using their internet bidding option, since I have not won any bids from this company since then I can't say if they have changed this or not, you might want to contact them to get thir current buyers premium for internet bidders.
