Correct Magazine for a 42 Mauser Banner late war
What would be the correct magazine for 42 Mauser Banner late war commercial (not police, not army!) in the 8300 Y range? I am thinking an unmarked, unproofed late war Mauser extruded type with a blue tube and an unmarked black plastic bottom or an unmarked aluminum bottom (aluminum seems unlikely to me). Thanks!

Surely someone knows or has an educated guess of what these rare guns should have for a magazine?

You're right on. Possibly a commercial luger, called variation 10. Two digit date, 4 inch barrel in 7.65 or 9mm. C/U E/N or no proofs. Small parts strawed or blued. Black plastic or walnut grips.
Some have P.08 on the frame. 8126y - 9194y. The change over from aluminum to plastic mag bottoms started in 1941, so it might have either. FN |

CJ, I agree that most 1942 lugers were issued with the FXO schmeisser type mag with a black plastic bottom. I have an exc one available if needed. It's also possible that the correct mag for a police or contract issue, would not be WaAed or FXO marked. TH
