Fat Barrel
I am not positive that some to the members have noticed my absence from the forum, but my wife has been very ill for the past several months. I'm quite sure other members have experienced the same thing, but I did not know the impact illness of a wife or husband can have on one's life. I cannot attent a gun show or any other function for fear she would need attention. All that being said, my following statement might be a duplication as I have not been following the forum too closely. If this is a duplication, my apologies.
Charlie Justmann or better know as Chech Point Charlie has two, yes two 1902 Fat Barrel Lugers at $4000.00 each. Don't get your credit cards out too soon; both are restored, but both have the proper serial number and both are very nice. Honestly if things had not hit me financially so hard, I would have one in my collection now. I'm not a fan of restoration, but $4000.00 for a fat barrel seems awful attractive or have I been out of the circle too lone? Mike |

Sorry to hear about your wife's illness but hope she recovers quickly.
Don't recall seeing a thread about two fat barrels available at Check Point Charlies????? Thanks for posting. Ron |

My condolenses to you and your wife. My wife was down for 6 months due to a bad accident involving knee replacement, broken leg and arm plus 7 fractured ribs. So, I was in the same situation. Luckily I am retired and can do 24/7 care.

family illness...
Hi Mike, it breaks my heart to here of your wife's illness and health issues... I often ponder what life might be like if my wife was house bound or very ill, and I don't think I could survive it... There is so much we take for granted when younger, I think if lucky and blessed, we are peacefully ignorant of the really rough times that are in our future? I have every hope that her health will improve soon and you can get back to your life path.... best to you and yours, til.....lat'r.....GT

Continuous Prayers for a rapid recovery for your wife Mike. So sorry to hear about her illness. There will always be a chance at owning another Luger... but nothing is more important than caring for her at this time... I know you will.
kind regards, -John |

Mike, my thoughts and prayers to you and her.
To answer your question; I think if a nice restore, then the prices are good. |

Howdy Mike,
I am sorry to hear about your wife's problems. Families are first priority to share our love with. My prayers are with your wife and you. I have a restored fat barrel. I was pleased to get it. $4000 is not a bad price, mine was slightly less the that 11 years ago. God bless you, Dick |

The very best for your better half, Mike. We're rootin' for her, and you can count on that.
