Default 1906 extractor?

Will a standard P08 extractor fit a 1906 luger. Thanks David.

Default Hi Jon...!!

I *think* that the '06 is the same (but I could be wrong).. I thought that the '00 through '04 had the flat extractor. The 06 had the new breech block but retained the squeeze safety and no stock lug from the earlier design. I'm using the Dutch '06 as the reference point on this, though...

I believe that the 1903 and 1904 Models while having the new style breechblock had a slightly different contoured extractor. The "ears" on the sides of extractor of these models were more like half circles where the 1906 and later were slightly longer.

David, Most standard PO8 extractors (these may vary slightly in length depending on manufacturer) will also work in your M1906. Since your pistol is a commerical or contract, the serial number on this part is stamped in the inside, whereas the German military PO8s have the last 2 digits of the serial stamped on top. I have both types available. Your M1906 extractor should also be rust blued, vise the post 1937 hot dip. If your 1906 is American Eagle marked on the chamber, your extractor should be marked "Loaded" vise Geladen. This type will cost $100 in exc condition, vise $50 for a standard exc "Geladen" marked commerical.
