Default 1906 Brazilian & Portuguse Holster Differences?

What are the differences between the holsters?

The M2 Portugese holster will have "pockets" for the cleaning rod and pin punch on the right side (looking from the front). The Brazilian holster is the same less the pin punch holder.

Tom,

Thanks for the come back. The only photo of a Brazilian holster I found is in Lugers at Random pg 409.

Do you know of others photos? Do both use the same cleaning rod w/oiler on top? Does the Brazilian have any markings?

Seems like little info on the holster. Thanks again for your input. Ron

I have a holster virtually identical (pin punch sleeve appears slightly longer) to the portugese holster, except no "AE" marking and no square cut-out inside on the back near the toggle area. Anybody guess what it might be?? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion. I would love it if this was a navy holster, but I think because of the sleeve for the pin punch, that it probably is not. I will look at that reference again closer!! Someone once suggested that it might be a portugese navy version having no "AE" stamp, but another source told me that every item going to any branch of the finnish military (including navy) was marked "AE".

Still a mystery for me....
