Default Artillery 2 mag pouch

I haven't posted any pics in a while so here is an original artillery 2 mag pouch in nice condition to share.

My impression is that double mag pouches for the Artillery accepted the rig's shoulder strap running vertically through the rear loop. Perhaps someone can answer the question of whether pouches for belts, like this one, were ever issued. It could also be a commercial pouch?

It looks very clean...maybe a little too clean for a hundred year old leather accessory, unless it was kept in a drawer. The closure tab is not straight, and because the Germans were so fastidious they could probably back up to a wall and pull out a brick, I'm worried for you that it might also be a repro, regardless of the nice maker's mark (which I cannot see very well in the pic). Jerry B. or George A. should be able to make the call...

Just the fake ones. Original Artillery mag pouches were belt loop only.

Unless it is 100 year old new old stock (unused)

It is what it is, but I am quite sure this is the real deal. @ mags fit very well,a hair snug, but I was probably the first to put mags in it.

Gents, in that case this is a beauty! Color me green...with a touch of red...
