***PICS *** Price check - byf 42 refurb
My first venture into the Luger world...
I have a rig on hold and I'm looking for feedback. The pistol is mostly-matching (externally, at least - 61XX), with black grips, and has been re-blued (100% remaining). Package includes a reproduction holster and 2 after-market magazines. Bore looks great! I'm looking for a shooter, not a safe queen, but I don't want to over-pay. Price is $650. Thoughts? Sounds Like a heck of a deal to me. Everybody needs a shooter. You will be hard pressed to find anything clean much cheaper. Have you test fired it? Can you suplly photos?

Haven't test-fired because its just on-hold at the shop. Wish I had pictures. If I end up getting it, I'll post some.
Based on the input I've received here and on other forums, it's probably a good deal. I definitely need a shooter, because I can't stand the idea of letting a gun sit in a safe and not visiting the range from time to time. I also teach firearms safety classes and it is nice to have something the students can see and touch without worrying about it too much. I guess I've answered my own question, but thanks for the input! * |

yes, price sounds excellent, and pics are a must...
Who did the refurb??? Is it a Russian capture/VOPO refurb??? These can be very good shooters.

The gun looks like examples I've seen listed as a "black widow" but with a completely re-blued finish. Not sure who did the re-blue. I did not break it down, but it is listed as "mostly matching" and all of the exterior marked areas do match.
I will post pictures if I decide to purchase. |

So taking an extra repro magazine out of the equation, probably $35.00 and the holster, another $40.00; you are getting a fully refinished shooting piece for $575.00. If it was done well, the cost of the work alone would be several hundred dollars.
If you want my advice, run, don't walk to the shop and snag this thing. |

A deal that sounds too good to be true what with today's Luger prices. If it sounds too good to be true, then maybe . . . . .?

No, its stated as a reblue / shooter, so it is a decent price to good price, but not a steal...
