Listing order within topic
John, Is there some way that I can get the newest comments to appear at the top of the list within each topic? I'm getting tired of having to scroll thru comments that I've already read.

Yes, although easier to figure out the story of what is what, I kind of like to see newest at the top also,

John would be the best to answer this, but it's my understanding that the posts automatically go the the top of the list based on posting date. So if an old thread is posted to today it should automatically jump to the top of the list. If it doesn't work that way, then I'm very confused!

I think I misread the question.... my answer was for topics within a forum, not posts within a topic - sorry.

I will have to review the Admin functions for the display of messages and topics...
I know that there is an admin setting to reverse the order of listing from newest to oldest, but I am not sure how that affects individual posts withing a topic...perhaps John D. knows the answer here. We will never be able to please everyones wishes with a global change like that, but maybe there is a provision for individual members to control their own display... again John D. will have to advise on this... back to the admin control panel for some research... Okay here is what the UBB application control panel says about this. There are apparently only two options:
The standard (recommended) way to display posts is chronologically from original topic to the latest reply. You can reverse this, if you prefer, to have posts displayed in reverse, from latest post to oldest post. This applies to pages that display all posts in a given topic

This does not appear to address topics, but only posts within a topic. So unless John D. know something from his years of running this application, the best we can do is reverse the order of posts within a topic (if that is what he wants to do ) How about it John D. ?
