Default Poll : Dealers - 2nd. Purchase

Poll : Dealers - 2nd. Purchase

Any new luger collector can buy the 1st. time from a dealer.

It might be useful to let beginning luger collectors know which dealers Luger Forum members would consider buying a luger from, AGAIN.

Please base your Poll replies on PERSONAL buying experiences you have had with a Dealer and not what you have merely heard and read from others about Dealers.

I have selected "dealers" that either have prominent gun show presences or web sites or both. I uderstand there is also a fine line between a true dealer and a private collector that sells lots of guns.

I have also listed web site links, were applicable, so folks can visit their web sites .

Participation in the Poll is strictly voluntary and you can vote without identifying yourself in the discussion-portion of the Poll...if you want your identity kept private.

I have listed only 20 choices (limit of setting up a Poll). You can choose more than one selection, as well.

I assume Ed Tinker will add other names as an Administrator can open up the Poll to more than 20 choices.

There are other USA luger dealers and over-seas ones as well. Let Ed Tinker know which others should be added.

How about Peter Dunster in Canada? I would buy from him a second time in a heartbeat. Come to think of it, I already have!

A big Amen re: Peter Dunster. Have bought about 5 from him, including some that were significant outlays. Every transaction was smooth and the guns better than advertised.

Thanks Frank. This is why Lugerforum is so useful. I have a lot of gun collecting buddies near me, but none collect lugers. Being in Texas most of my friends collect Colts and Winchesters.

When imported from Canada to USA are the guns stamped for import?
Excellent poll Pete, especially like the 2nd purchase part.

Dave,

I understand this Montana outfit is used for the USA importations. You might try calling the shop, directly, and getting the details of their stampings.

A few fellows in the Swiss section have just recently brought in Swiss lugers from a group-buy out of Switzerland. I have asked both fellows to post photos, if they agree to, of their importation stampings.

Yes, the Canadian imports have to be importer stamped. I have seen Leroy's stamp, and it is very tiny and discreet. Unfortunately, a stamp is still a stamp.

Pete,
I took the time to go to every web site on that list and look at every gun in which I might have interest, except Lugers because I don't know enough about them.
With the possible exception of one Mauser pocket pistol, I found no guns I would consider buying at the price offered.
I'd be interested to know if the Luger experts on this list get the same result looking at the Lugers offered: i.e., overpriced.

Sorry...Mike...but I have not...

Some mention of them on Jan's Gun Boards, though...you might "search" there and email those folks that have.

Walter,

Here is the posting you have asked about. I have made this note so it will come up to the "top" of the discussion listings for you...

I've purchased a Luger from Peter Dunster and highly recommend his services. You get a gun exactly as described by him on GunsAmerica.

Hi Eric,

This "list" is not just a listing of Luger dealers out there...

The more important aspect of the List is asking the Members (who chose to vote) if they would buy from that dealer again.

One needs to contemplate why some prominent names on the List do not get more votes...
