Presentation case and carry case for the Luger carbine

Hi,
I get asked a lot of times, if I know someone or can make a Luger Carbine presentation case.

Can any one point me to a good source for one ... OK more then one ;0)

I prefer it to be lined with some soft material, possibly with a space for second or two mags and some ammo spots.

And also have a glass case top and possibly a lock on it ?

Also looking for a good leaser case maker to make a carry case for a carbine. I will provide the pictures if anyone can do it.

CMR Firearms has been selling nice reproduction cases for many types of pistols for a long time. Perhaps they can help you out as well. Not Jerry's quality, but a good price/quality level.

I afraid i will need a custom level work for a 16 inch carbine with stock..

Eugene..Thanks very much for your inquiry about Carbine cases. I have sent you a few photo’s. I can see a few problems with these right off..One is they are quite expensive. I have only made a half dozen over the years..I make them by hand. I have no machine to make them with. My price to a collector who is wanting one for a $15,000-20,000 carbine has been $600. Reasonable in this case…


For a wholesaler $600 would be less than ideal of course but a faster way to stitch them would have to be employed. Currently my repair business makes it difficult to produce any new leather goods unless I am not busy and that is almost never the case. I am a one man shop. I make commitments to my clients to repair… and that is my first priority.


The other little problem that pops up is the extra long barrel on Carbines you produce. I have always made cases for the standard 12 inch barrel and a 16 inch barrel might make the case totally out of proportion to the stock. I have never made a case with the 16 inch barrel so I don’t know how it would look…

I could do it but it will be a bit spendy. I think a previous posters $800.00 number is about right give or take a few bucks. If it were to be several then obviously the price could get down a little bit. Set up templates and all would cut down on labor for future boxes. I love it... exactly what i need , but 4 inches longer

And the price is reasonable in any case ...

By the way , is there a liner of some sort ?
Or it's just pure hide ?

Eugene, The cases I make are made of vegetable tanned Cowhide..Dyed on the outside the desired color.

The inside is a seperate layer of very soft vegetable tanned pigskin with NO dyes or other treatment..meant to be next to the carbine without chemicals of any kind. The interior leather is sewn in with linen thread on all edges as well as the interior.

I bought a supposed carbine case so called 'Aberchrombie & Finch' that wound up a fake from India. I heard of my now good friend Jerry Burney who made me this beauty. I don't remember what I paid but it wasn't enough. The hand stiching is awesome. Face it a $20K luger is worth the finest. I own the Louis Vutton of carbine cases./

If not how is it affecting the finish of the gun and wood finish?

Which one are you referring to, Jerrys' or the Indian? Jerry descibes his lineing. I wich I could store each of my lugers in this material!

I believe Eric's case from Pakistan has a canvas lining. I would not recommend canvas for a lining. Seems to me it would be a little rough on a pistols finish.

I have kept my carbine in it's pigskin lined case now for 8 years, it is there as we speak..and it has not adversly affected the metal or the wood. The pigskin I use is as smooth as chamois.

The chamois retains moisture. My 1920 has beed housed in his carrier for more then 8 years and has survived my abuse and disrespect. How about your same material to make a Test Holster? I would buy one!

Jerry do you make a regular PO8 Maybe for my 1937 Kreighoff in pigskin?? It for those high end pieces!!!!!
