Pimp Lugers (Including 1918 Arty)
In February I won an auction from Rock Island. It was a lot including a 1916 P08 and a 1918 LP08. With help from this site, I find that I am quite happy with my purchase. Both guns sport hideous Franzite white grips that have shrunken and barely stay on.
The P08 was described as mismatched and it is. The funny thing is that the upper is all matched and the lower also but they don't match each other. The gun was WAY overbuffed and was refinished in a deep blue. The Arty however, excepting the grips and the magazine is all matching. I did receive a correct magazine for the gun but sadly the numbers don't match. The Arty has to my eye never been refinished and even sports a good halo (in a bad photo) below. So I'm pleased as punch, I have an original (mostly) LP08 and a shooter P08 (and it does shoot and has run through about 250 rounds since receipt). Last edited by Rogerdog; 04-22-2010 at 02:28 PM. Nice, enjoy busting them out at the range.
