Question Markings On Ari Barrels

Hello,a Ari 1916 was offered to me.The whole pistol looks old, but the barrel has another colour than the rest. Now the questions :Where should be the serial nr on the barrel? Are any known without? There are markings on the rear sight, but no numbers. Are the barrel and the sight bases (front and rear)one part,or could it be changed?
thank you for helping and laughing about my english.greatings from Germany M.

Paul, no one here will laugh at your English.

A 1916 dated LP08 should have a barrel that is serial numbered on the bottum where the barrel joins the receiver. It should also include a measurement of the bore such as "8,83". The rear sight should also be serial numbered both on the base (top) and ramp (right side), these markings will only include the last two digits in the serial number.

All 1916 LP08s will also have fine tune sites, both front and rear. These are easily identified as the small set screws with two small holes for a spanner rather than a slot.

Paul,

Welcome to the Lugerforum. Would it be possible for you to post photographs of the gun?
