Default Police unit marking P.120.

I recently obtained from a fellow forum member a 1921 dated DWM commercial Luger that was sent into police service. It is WaA4 proofed on the right receiver with a sear safety and no magazine safety. The front grip strap is marked P.120 as is the holster that came with the gun. Don M. has this Luger along with a few other examples in his book noting he is not sure of the meaning of the marking. I was wondering if anyone else has a gun marked in a similar fashion and if they have any ideas on the origin. Thanks.

Michael, in addition to the list in Table 20-4 of HWIS, I have recorded a 1917 Erfurt marked P.52. I still don't know what the marking means.
