Adding to the shelves, how good is Datig's Swiss Variations book?

I don't know and yes I own it. Anything with luger I usually buy

Some have been very poorly done, Datigs are usually good
I like to have examples of known books, not much of a swiss luger guy, but to me its good to have.

It's a useful monograph, but small.

Bobba's book is more extensive and complete.

"Parabellum/A Technical History of Swiss Lugers" by Vittorio Bobba. published in 1996 by Priuli & Verlucca. It is a large format book, 9 1/2" X 13 1/4", written in Italian and English. Very comprehensive, both in history and variant details of Swiss Lugers and contemporary firearms. Excellent color photos of guns, components and accessories. Detailed tables of serial numbers, markings and variants. Out of print and usually expensive when you can find one (I did a quick search and found a listing for one at $495).

Bobba's book is nice, especially in the display department, but it lacks an in depth analysis of a number of technical changes.

The best works are in German and written by Reinhard Kornmayer and Eugen Heer.

Mauro Baudino and myself discussed some details of Swiss production in our book 'The Parabellum is Back'.

Sturgess also did quite a bit of work on the Swiss variations.

Basically there is not a single good book on Swiss lugers, the information is scattered across a number of books in several languages.
