"bad weather in Texas and Oklahoma"
I realize that the title of this post it's a bit of an undestatement, but since here they have reported really bad disasters caused by heavy floodings in Texas and Oklahoma, I only wanted to drop a line hoping that none of our members are involved.

... Born & raised in Texas, but now a Virginian even longer. I was always amazed by the bone dry creek beds and gullies around Midland out in West Texas, because they were so deep and wide. But when you get a gully washer, they would fill up and even over flow onto the roads around them. The land just didn't hold water and it would quickly run off to low areas and into the draws. Typical landscape of the great southwest. ...and a long way from our 'ol homestead in Borgiallo near the church.

I live about 20 miles from Wimberly. I didn't have any flooding problems but I have two large oak trees down in my yard. It's so wet here I can't even begin to start cleaning them up because I can't drive the truck in the yard without making big trenches.
My whole neighborhood got hit pretty hard with winds. There's big trees down all over and few roofs off as well. |

Colorado is flooding too. With streams over flowing and hillside mud slides, but nowhere near what Texas is experiencing..

I've been in contact with forum member Ross Little of Wichita Falls, TX, and he's in the heart of it. He said that a week ago they were in a draught...
