You are not alone. It had become very slow over the last few days and as of yesterday it was not accessable for me.

It has been on and off the last couple of days. Had access this morning (CET), but not at the moment. Probably some technical issues.

The main Gunboards forum has been off for extended periods at times recntly because they were installing a new or updated operating system. That could have easily affected Jan's site as the same servers, etc are used.
It will be back.

German Lugers, Central Powers and Axis Pistols site down
The German Lugers, Central Powers and Axis Pistols site is being upgraded and will be back online in a few days.
Thanks for your patience. Also, I am in fine health. There is a rumor that I am sick. It is not true! Jan Last edited by Jan C Still; 01-13-2010 at 03:36 PM. |

Jan" Jan, Glad to hear it. I heard that you were having some issues. I mentioned it to another member in passing. So, I'm probably somewhat to blame for the rumor. I apologize if I am responsible for perpetuating it. Ron

I've been checking out the new format for the upgrade on the Gunboards forums.
I've discovered that many posted photos didn't survive. Not even any links to restore them with. When I clicked on posts, they often didn't come up. Just a blank screen. The format is "soft and fluffy" for the lack of better terms. Kind of expected to see a "Muffin and Pastry" or "The Coffee Corner" forum listed. Just my "undelighted" 2 cents worth. Ron

Douglas,
I'm with you. Hoping Jan's forum will be an exception. Ron

Vlim
The 5 puppies are doing fine and each is cute as a button. Their mom, Molly, is a small dog and its all she can do to keep them fed. They are just starting to eat solid food and are starting to mill around their small compound and occasionally bite each other. Jan |

He is not kidding. Hopefully, this will no carry over to Jan's forum.
Not much Jan can do about it if it should occur. Hopefully, we have copies of all the pictures on our hard drives. Every picture I made and posted, I still have copies of. Pictures obtained from another source - probably not. We will survive though.

"We will survive though."
Charlie, I'm sure we will, but if Douglas persists in bashing his head against that wall, we may have to start feeding him pablum and taking him for walks.

Main gunboards is back up and it looks and feels much like it did; although I have not tried posting photos yet.
It is much better than I feared Ed

If I recall correctly, a few years ago Jan's board was hacked and we survived.

The new gunboards sites are powered by a slightly newer version of vBulletin, which was also used to run the old boards (and this one) at a lower version number.
These forums support several different visual styles ('skins') that shouldn't affect the board performance much. I hope that Jan's part will retain the old style as I can't say I like the new gunboards visual style either. |
