WTK: Est. Value ERMA 22 Luger

Looking for info and value of a ERMA La22. SN 126XX, It has three manuf. stamps on leftside, one looks look Weimar eagle stamp (same as on K98's), next looks like a sheild with diag. lines both ways, and last is a crest with 65 in it. The right side is marked MADE IN GERMANY cal.22LR. Finish and bore in great shape, Has plastic grips, mag. is not marked.

I don't know enough about these things to make an estimate on this particular piece, but in gerneral, I see Erma 22's going for around $200 in this neck of the woods.

I think $150 to $200 depending on the condition, who is selling and who is buying... but personally, they are not Lugers, just a Luger look-a-like, and I have never known anyone who was glad they bought one including me. Mine has been gone for years... and I don't miss it.

Most that I have known have been very ammunition picky... and not very accurate.

I had one of the Stoeger look likes and it didn't break or shed pieces. On the other hand it averaged two jams per magazine full, not far behind the 380 AMT that was my all time champ for jamming. It was quite accurate when it did go bang, but wondering if it would or wouldn't throws you off your stride.

I currently have an Erma in 32 ACP and so far it has not broken, has not shed any bits and pieces, and has not jammed. Perhaps they put a little more effort into the centerfire version.

I find the centerfire version (At least mine, with wood grips.) looks more Luger like than the 22, even though it is smaller. The 22 is approximately full sized.

NS, Your LA (aka the M1964) Erma 22 was made in 1965 (the date in shield). I used to work on these pistols and still have some parts if need, but found the spring balance to be ultra critical. No sooner than a pistol was repaired and a box of ammo was shot, it would begin to jam again. Good luck, Tom H.
