Default C96 Help

Hello, hoping to find the answer on what's worn out on a C96 that's not allowing the hammer to drop. Seems the only way I can get the hammer to drop when the trigger is pulled is if I shim the right space between the lock mechanism and the upper then it works. It assembles without issue and does not appear to have a lot of play. With the shim in place it forces down the lock mech approx 1/32 -1/64 of an inch. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I believe that I had a similar issue several years ago on a bolo and ended up sending it to our Luger Doc for a repair. It was an easy fix.
