Found this today looks like it fits 22 lr some ideas?

Nice find,

This is the RG34a, used for subcalibre devices, like the Erma .22lr conversion kits.
They are rare!

The chain is definitely for a .22 barrel. The brushes are regular 7,92mm brushes and the tool would not be included in a sub-caliber kit.

I see these on every gun show I go up here. They are usually associated with surplus Mauser rifles.

How do you know it is called a "Rg34a"? I have never heard the .22 kit called that.

Which manual are you referring to because I do not find that designation (Rg34a) in this one.

Peter, you are correct. Both manuals I found references in just refer to it as the RG34 for the 5,56mm barrel inserts. I have known the phrase RG34a as long as I know the sets, perhaps it just stuck
