Red face OT - FN High Power

Gentlemen, I would appreciate any information from the forum on a late model 1935 FN High Power. This pistol is in excellent condition, bore has sharp land edges, some slight groove peppering. The pistol contains all the correct acceptance and proof marks.

The serial numbers on the barrel and frame match 493b, but the slide is numbered 64493b. Does anyone know if the first several digits were omitted on late FN Pistols or is this simply a pistol with a slide from a different one.

All the FNs I have seen have had the complete serial numbers on all three parts, but I can't remember if I have ever seen a "b" suffix before.

Thanks for any inputs!!
