Pete, Earlier you asked about holsters being made with black thread. It was fairly common. I am working on a 1934 Army and it was built originally with black thread, fairly thick too.
I have noted Police and Navy holsters made with black thread.
You are right, many holsters were made with a lighter color and later darkned with some substance. Open up the holster and generally the stitching inside will indicate the original color.

Hi Jerry,

The HK holster looks a little better dressed up...

Gun is a S-code, serial # 2122, with correct but not matching magazines (two each...# 2700 and # 3889), HK stamped TD tool, and the arsenal replacement holster.
