Hello Peter,

Cannot help you with your magazine # 2128 request...

Just thought it curious that I have a S-code HK luger, serial # 2122...very, very close to the number on your pistol. That is only 6 gun numbers apart...

My magazine does not match but it is # 2700...

My HK photos are located in the Member's Galley section, now on page 12 if you want to see my luger.

Might you have some photos you could share with us of your HK luger ? My HK has Ritzmann grips. Does yours or are they HK wooden grips ?

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Peter,

Thanks for posting your S-code HK luger photos. Nice luger.

How long have you owned it ? Do you shooot it at all ?

Noticed the finish on your toggle knob section has a bit of a plum/rose tint. Mine has that also, so maybe the bluing salts that day when the parts went in were a bit old/weak...

I think it is a bit odd, funny that two guys (you and me) that both are named "Peter" have two S-code HK lugers that are only 6 gun numbers apart...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

He,he..
But we live on each side of the world...

Have owned it a couple of years. Don't shoot my "collector grade guns".
Have a couple of shooters for that...

Peter,
I have friends in Norway. When my 14 year old dachshund dies, I plan on visiting my friends there. They live in Borgheim, just outside of Oslo. They want to introduce me to Derek Schei. They think he is also a Luger collector/gun dealer. Maybe someday you and I will meet.

My only plans in Norway is to cross over the Arctic Circle and to bravely crawl to the edge of "Pulpit Rock".

Peter,

Here is my rig photo...with pistol # 2122.

Holster is dated 1937, but not HK proofed...

Both magazines HK correct but not matching to the pistol.

p.s. There isn't a gun I own that I won't shoot at least one time...

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Pete,
nice stainless steel front sight on your gun. Are one of those magazines serial numbers P792 or 2128? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Hello Norm,

Thanks for pulling my chain this morning...

I think the photo just had some glare...the front sight is blue and even looks like a bit of fire-blue remains...

I actually have three magazines for this HK. # 2700 came with the gun which is serial # 2122.

I also have a # 3537 and a # 3889 HK magazine. I did place a 11-8-03 WTT ad in the Forum's for-sale section about these other two magazines. Photos there as well...

I also had jotted down the magazine serial number you need in my gun-show binder...so I have my eyes out for you. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Pete.
big kiss if you find my P code w/side inscription magazine. I carry a long list of serial numbers to gun shows. All my friends think that I am crazy. (They are right. Hee! Hee!) I spend more time looking at magazines on mismatched guns than I spend looking at Lugers. I also have a copy of this list along side my computer while watching the internet. I religiously go over all my Don Hallock lists everytime I buy a new Luger treasure. Someday, this lunatic is going to go real crazy when I find something.

Right now I am trying to find original artillery holsters with all the leather attachments whose manufacture dates match the artillery chamber dates on artilleries that I have that have matching mags and shoulder stocks for. Now that is REAL crazy.

I just want to share with you what started my adventures with this great hobby or craziness! I acquired this gun (my first) from the actual soldier that brought it back from Germany. He is a Hero and a Gentleman in my book. Anyway, I will post the story behind the soldier and the gun in a later time. The gun is all matching with the exception of the magazine which is a krieghoff serial number 10339. The gun is #1487 with thick checkered walnut grips. If anyone happens to have or see the magagazine that goes with this pistol, please let me know.
Enjoy, Tony

Tony, I collect stories such as this, and have a booklet of stories and pictures of guns brought back.

I'd like to get your story if I could and add it to my collection and eventual booklet?

Ya know, its been often mentioned in emails to me that the forum cannot come up with maybe a "Wish List" section. In it could be list of magazines and/or artillery/navy shoulder stocks that people are looking for and maybe willing to trade but not sell. It could be patterned after Don Hallocks magazine list. This has been brought up before and it has been rejected because of the difficulty in maintaining it. This is understandable and true. But it would be nice anyway. It would also be nice if Don Hallock would put his list on the internet. Maybe even include shoulder stocks.

I have spare original artillery stocks that I would be willing to trade. I also have a spare 1916 dated artillery holster with all the attaching leather that I would trade-only for a 1914, 1917 or 1918 original holster rig. But win-win trades are difficult to pull off.

This is just a crazy guy without a digital camera dreaming out loud.

So looney, start a thread in discussions and we'll "stick" it to the top, each member can put their wish list on that thread.

In fact, I will go and start the thread.

Let's see, what do I want and need...

Simply outstanding!!! I'd really appreciate the story behind this HK RIG... As well, as you know, your MAG # in in the 1940 HK production range, and it's not uncommon to find later numbered/Accepted mags in earlier HKs...

Absolutely terrific...!!!

Thanks - and Congrats!!!!
