Very nice break down of the drum magazine. Never had the nerve to take any of mine apart. Always had the sinking feeling something would go badly wrong. Thanks for dispeling this.

The last time I was on-hold at Numrich (the most common way they treat phone customers) I heard the recording say something about new made LP-08 drum mags coming in soon. I asked the sales lady about it but she didn't have it in her system so she thought it wasn't in yet. She said try once a week until it comes through if I really wanted one.

That would round out my almost completely repro Arty rig nicely...

Actually I'm from B.C. Canada and I have talked to people gun shop owners, collectors, ect. That have said they are totally legal to hold 32 rounds. Aparently the governmeant now considers them to be a historic item of some sort and now they no longer require them to be pinned or modified to hold 5 or 10 rounds. And I highly doubt anyone would pay $1000+ for a drum that would be used in any sort of crime. This drum couldn't possibly pose a threat to society..

The price seems about right for a snail drum and a loader. But the seller also mentioned a shaped canvas bag. I couldn't get the pictures of the total assembly so I can't talk much. But if this is an original carrying bag for a snail drum, then this might have been a deal. Simpson sold one a while back for $1000. Then there is the case of whether or not there was a dust cover which goes for about $200. Then there could be a fitting for the machine gun. Was that there? That could be worth extra bucks. Too bad that I couldn't see the pictures.
