Thanks for the clarification Ron.
Took the old girl to the firing range this morning. On the second magazine it started to misfire. Ejected, chambered next round, fired maybe two or three shots, misfired. Repeated procedure once or twice more with another magazine. Finally wouldnâ??t fire at all. I removed the side plate there on the firing line and the trigger lever dropped out. The trigger lever pin had slipped out of the holes. I put it back in and the gun worked flawlessly for the next eighty rounds. It seems to be OK now but I need to know the best way to prevent this in the future. Dare I try to tweak the pin? Need I replace it? Is there a particular way to put it in so it wonâ??t slip out again? Thanks in advance guys, Russell |

Tac in Tokyo,
That is one of my favorite places in world to be. Looks like you are there for some time. I hope you have the chance to get around Japan and neighboring countries as well. Then, again, you may be an old hand in Asia for all I know. Back to the markings in the underside of the rear sight band on my LP08. '9 M/M .752" ' '15 TONS PER (square) " ' There is a (St. Anthony's?) cross with 'R' in the west quadrant, what looks like 'P' in the east quadrant, and possibly '2' in the south quadrant, and the north quadrant is empty. The north-west leg of the cross seems to have a single hash mark across it. Does the â??15 TONSâ?? mean they actually tested it with that force? Thanks for your interest in this matter. Russell

Got the trigger lever pin replaced and that works fine now. Also picked up a repro stock. Shot 100 rounds with some feeding and extraction problems. As I refine my shooting ability I am hitting the target more often now.

15 tons X 2000 lbs = 30,000 lbs psi chamber pressure... sounds like a standard load or close to it to me...

Tac,
No wonder my hat smells funny. See, you ARE an expert, even if you are only 60. Just one more question for now, what is 'geas'? Russell

Well, here's the rig.
Reproduced in Thailand. I guess it had been sitting around for awhile before I bought it. No history. Not too expensive. Nothing special. The mag pouch is not a match. I just like the way it looks with my restored LP-08. It sure helps improve my accuracy...such as it is. And here are a few of the previously mentioned details of the Luger itself now that I have better camera capability. Thanks for looking and for all your help. Russell |
