Thanks very much, Jerry! Very interesting.

I recently bought a mismatched arty wiht a stock/holster. I haven't been able to shoot it yet due to health concerns, but I shot a pard's stocked arty a few years back and I was sold. Can't wait to fire it.

Thinking of strictly a shooter's standpoint, nonmilitary application, the lanyard use I spoke of would apply to plinking and small gamehunting where stocks aren't legal or obtainable. It could/should be easily detached so that the pistol could be returned easily to original.

Hey Ron,

Your moving into a new house is the best time to have a Luger Fest event in El Paso...we can all help you move your lugers into their new home...and even other stuff...!!!

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Thanks for the nice visit Rod this past Tuesday. I had several Lugers to show Rod. My K date, an S Date Krieghoff, AM's 1916 DWM ARtiilery Luger, CR's 1900 AE DWM Luger were show cased and Rod brought his Artillery Luger and left it for restoration. We had a long talk about guns, shooting, hunting and other stuff. Rod is from El Paso and I told him he had to get together with Ron Wood and see his fabulous collection of minty Imperial Lugers. Thanks again Rod, I really enjoyed meeting you.

Thank you, Ted. I really enjoyed meeting you and gleaning knowlege, as well as getting to fondle those guns! It seemed as if I had been there no time, a true measure of how much I enjoyed the visit. I know my gun is in good hands. I've been privileged to meet a few people I've talked to online; universally, they've been fine folks and you're right up there at the top.

I "plugged" your work earlier on another, non-Luger board and I plan to on another one or two, it's excellent!

It's a long time since these posts, but it seems I might have missed Jerry's great description of lanyards. Very interesting. Thanks.

And I agree about the board stock. I have one of the "Persian" ones and I could easily shoot minute of previously littered beer can at 70 yards when camping out in the Guadalupe Mountains a month or so ago. At this point I have no plans to shoot my artillery without the stock. I was thinking of the models for which it is legally impossible to attach a stock when I mentioned the lanyard for steadying the pistol.
